Preliminary Task

For our preliminary task we had to include the 180 degree rule, A  Match On Action, An Eye-line Match, A Shot reverse Shot and Dialogue exchange between 2 characters.

Preliminary Task

In our preliminary task we used the 180 degree rule which is where you stay on one side of the characters e.g. If one character is on the right side of the camera and the other character is on the left for a long as the camera is recording them the camera has to stay on one side so all through the recording the 1st character stays on the right and the 2nd character stays on the left but if the camera switches sides that means the characters have switched around and the audience will get confused, we used the 180 degree rule when Emma came into the theater to talk to Catherine and Laura.

Also in our task we used a match on action which is where you see a scene from two different perspectives we incorporated this when Emma passed the note she found over to Laura.

Another technique we used was an eye-line match which is where two characters are facing each other and you can clearly see that they are looking into the others eyes so their eyes are in line with each others.

The filming process was OK in the way that we needed the college scene for our task we needed the shots we filmed were the same as the shots that were planned on the storyboard,so the filming turned out to be easy to do around the college and quite fast because of the planned shots on the storyboard.
From using the Abode Premiere for the editing I learned how to make dialogue louder and also how to input sound effects e.g. the guitar intro. Also I learned how to splice shots that we had filmed so we could make them shorter or get rid of the pieces that we didn't want. Another editing technique i learnt was how to use transitions so from going from one scene to another we used a dissolve to make the transition smoother.
Another technique was how to add a title and ending credits so that it would be a good way of ending the whole filming process there were different fonts we could have used fro our ending credits and title sequence so there was a variety of effects we could have for our ending of the preliminary task. overall the filming and editing were quite easy to learn and do.
